Fillis Stirrup Irons With Treads

One of the most popular irons which come with white rubber treads. Fillis irons are heavier and very useful for dressage and jumping, as they help to give the rider more balance. For safety the iron should be wide enough to allow about 1/2" (1 - 1.5cm) on either side of the riders foot to avoid the foot getting caught in the stirrup in the event of a fall.
